The recipe is as follows:
- Preheat the oven at 180°C
- Mix 200g of room temperature butter with 170g of sugar until creamy
- Add four eggs: add them one at the time and mix after adding every egg
- Add 200g of flour and fold in gently with a spatula
- Add 2 coffeespoons of baking powder and 2 coffeespoons of cinnamon and fold in the dough with a spatula
- Chop 1 apple and 1 pear into small pieces
- Add the chopped fruit to the dough and mix gently until distributed evenly in the dough
- Prepare a baking tin with a thin layer of butter and flour
- Pour the dough in the baking tin
- Distribute sugar pearls on top
- Bake for 1 hour
- Let the cake cool down a bit on a cooling rack
- Place two tablespoons of apricot jam in the microwave for a couple of seconds to make it more liquid
- Pour over the top of the cake and spread evenly for a nice, shiny glaze
