Sunday walk: Cadzand

This Sunday I drove to Cadzand to walk on the beach and search for seashells and prehistoric shark teeth. Cadzand is famous for shark teeth and other fossiles and in the Middle Ages people believed shark teeth protected the bearer against fever, enchantments and poisoning. The weather was cloudy and freezing cold with an icy wind so we only made a short walk and weren't lucky to find any shark teeth. I admit I was a little disappointed but better luck next time... We entered a local tearoom/restaurant and found the best apple beignets ever, hot and with a crispy yet soft and thick dough around the apples. They were delicious! When we walked back the sky was a soft pastel pink around sunset hour which was absolutely beautiful.
