While crocheting my autumnal dark orange sweater I encountered the problem of crocheting a smooth edge while turning my work from one row to the next. A while later my colleague had the same problem when crocheting her sweater. That's why I want to write a tutorial to create a smooth edge when crocheting a rectangle with half double crochets!
First, you crochet your row all the way to the end:
Then crochet 1 chain stitch:
Then crochet your first half double crochet in the last half double crochet of the previous row:
And continue your row with half double crochets until the next turn of rows:
